Views as I walk around the island

This...... is the island of Holhudhoo!  My Maldivian home for about two months.

Late afternoon, people sit out in front of their homes, talk with their neighbors and enjoy the cool breeze off the ocean.

Every afternoon about 4:45 p.m. the boys meet at various locations on the island to play football.  I've found watching the games, a great way to connect with the students.

Suspended chairs, made basically from a square wood frame with netting inbetween, abound along the beaches.  Great place to sit and watch a football game, the water, or the sunset.

The port is not that large, but usually busy, since boats are coming and going daily, transporting people and goods from one island to the other.  Fishing boats go out day and night in search of fish.

I am standing next to the beach on one side of the island, looking at the beach on the other side of the island.  Those trees at the end of the road, are right next to the beach on the opposite side of the island.

Meynaa School has two buildings on the island located a couple blocks apart.  This is the new building where 10th through 12th grades are taught.  Nice things about this building, the views of the island are great and the breeze seems to always be there, cooling down the classroom!
