Saving a tree or two

1.
Resources are scarce for education worldwide.  Here at Meynaa School in the Maldives, I been helping teachers learn how they can take the text written on one sheet of paper, and extend the use of that text for days if not a week.  All using different instructional strategies.

With the article about koi.... I trained the teachers to use the same article for..

!.  Identifying the who, what, when, where elements of each paragraph.

2.  Think-Pair-Share

3.  Writing summaries

4.  Reading fluency

5.  Focused conversations

Once teachers get the hang of it, the sky is the limit in terms of how they can use the same information to achieve many different learning objectives, and in the process use different instructional strategies to help students process the same information in different ways!
